You enjoy some skiing for the price of a few gallons of gas and they enjoy a new friend and reduced costs. Check bulletin boards in the various marinas, virtual bulletin boards on the newsgroups, classifieds in one of the magazines, or rider links such as this one at WakeWorld.com. 

Another entry point into this sport is through lessons. Apparently there aren't too many resources for that via Web sites - we found Craig and Erin's operating in Great Egg Harbor Bay but it's been down lately, another is Lakeview Marina on Lake Hopatcong.
