Introduction

Regardless of your planned seasonal activities:

  • Decorating in winter
  • Swimming in summer
  • Yard work in spring
  • Halloween in fall

It's always a good idea to take a few moments out to review some basic safety tips.

Of course, the number one resource in times of danger is always your local police department. Though 911 is often preferred for ease of dialing in an emergency, it's still a good idea to keep the local numbers for your town handy.

Before reading further, take a moment and see if you have those important numbers written down and easily accessible:

  • Police
  • Fire
  • First Aid

If you're unable to find them readily, take the time to look them up now and write them down, preferably on a self-adhesive label on the phone, especially if it's cordless.

Inside you'll find safety tips on a variety of topics:

Not all topics will necessarily apply at the present time, but do read through those that affect you. This will help your chances of remembering if a crisis arises.

Be sure also, that your fire extinguishers are properly charged - or buy new ones for the house, kitchen, and car if you haven't already. Do it now.

Enjoy both your indoor and outdoor activities safely!
