They
don't like to run at night.
This nighttime card is attracting the
carriage trade - they're ruining the odds.
Measured shots? They're nuts!
hose
are but a few of the less than complimentary conversations among serious
handicappers overheard during opening week at the Meadowlands - way back in
1976.
Based on the crowd of over 40,000 on opening night and
regular record attendance ever since, it seems they were all wrong about the
odds for success at the Big M. That
inaugural year was limited to harness racing, with the thoroughbreds debuting in
September of 1977.
While not steeped in the tradition of Monmouth
Park (now also managed by the NJ Sports & Exposition Authority), the
track is convenient, efficient and enjoyable. Regular attendees will want to
explore joining the Big
M Club to earn points toward valuable prizes with each wager made. To
increase your odds of making those wagers favorable ones, please explore their
well done page on How-to-Bet,
before you go!
In addition to the usual array of snacks and
fast food, there are various picnic and buffet programs for
groups, and the full
service dining options offered by
Pegasus
and Terraces.
