Ellis Island Immigration Center

Located in New York Harbor, Ellis Island served as the main immigration center of the United States until 1943.
After officially closing in 1954, the site was declared a National Monument in 1965, with the main building reopening as a museum in 1990.
Anxious men, women and children await their turn through the gate in another historical depiction.
